Inexpensive Wall Art
I saw this display at Pottery Barn this weekend and thought it was a cute way to decorate a blank wall "on the cheap." All you need is a photo printer, twine, clothes pins, and four nails. Pick your wall and determine the height just like you would for a framed picture. Then hammer in your nails, two on each side, one about a foot above the other. Secure twine on one end and swag ever so slightly to the other side. Secure and do the second swag of twine. Then, use your clothes pins to hang different sized pictures sans-frames all across the the two swags of twine. To really make this custom, print photos that match your color scheme for the room or accent the feeling you want the room to have. For example, are you going for a Paris theme? Don't just print pics of the Eiffel Tower. Find pictures of cafes, baguettes, wrought iron fences with spikes in the shape of fleur de lis, etc. Doing this in the bathroom? Find pictures of different out-houses. Have a monochromatic color scheme? Find a bunch of pictures in your color scheme or use this as contrasting art work. This could be really cute in a nursery with pictures of all your family members as babies. For that matter, it's so easy to do that you could string one up for a baby or bridal shower. What a great way to use all your cool pictures without buying a million frames! And, of course, you could continually change the photos with ease- seasonally, annually, or as often as you get pictures you want to display. Don't have cool pictures?
